Balfego, tuna from father to son (Balfego, le thon de père en fils)

A film by Clément Gargoullaud. Production: Multimédia France Production. France – 52 min. – 2012.

In Spain, the Balfegos have been fishing the red tuna for 6 generations with the help of an ultra-modern tuna fleet, a factory and breeding parks. After facing, over a long period of time, the fall in the population of tuna like the other fishermen, they have become today the keenest preservers having to face a drastic policy of quotas at the same time. This film portrays an unusual family and throws light on the secret world of the last sea-lords.
