Joé Seeten

A round the world sailor, with feet on the ground

Joé Seeten is part of the solo sailors closed class. Born and raised in Dunkirk, he began sailing on his parents’ boat gaining experience throughout adolescence. Over the years he then gained extensive experience at sea and built up some fine record gaining, four Tour de France (79, 80, 81 and 87), a  world championship  of  Quarter Tonner in 1984 and many other podiums in the monotype series. He then enters the Course du Figaro, before signing for a quite crazy challenge: the Vendée Globe Challenge 2000-2001, in which he will finish in tenth position.
Sailing Master, electrotechnologist, Joe is a real allrounder who always followed through on his projects from A to Z, from the building of the boat to the race. Wherever he goes, Joe keeps sharing his knowledge and his stories in the name of passion.

Joé Seeten will be present on Thursday, June 6, 2013 for the opening evening of the Festival les Ecrans de la Mer, at the Studio 43.
