Vacarme en haute mer

A film by Jérôme Julienne and John Jackson. Production: Grand Angle, Souffleurs de Vert, France Télévisions. France – 50’ – 2012.

Songs, codas, clicks, trills are used by marine mammals to communicate, to find their way and to meet with others. Oil platforms, mining explorations, sonars and ships create an underwater cacophony slightly imperceptible at the sea surface. Investigative journalist, Sébastien Folin meets with specialists in this field to try and understand how these sounds may impact cetaceans.
